Meet Matt

Matt Prescott is a versatile musician with over 35 years of live performance and over 20 years experience in teaching guitar, bass, music theory, song writing and audio recording.

Matt played in multiple, rock, jazz, blues and metal groups in Seattle for over 20 years before moving to the east side where he opened his own lesson studio, The Guitar Loft in Post Falls.

Now located in Spokane Valley, he's recoded and produced dozens of records for his own groups and others in many different styles. Matt also has over 25 years experience in guitar repair and maintenance.

My Teaching Style

I teach by playing the music that inspired you to pick up your instruments in the first place. I help students learn the nuts and bolts of technic, theory and ear training by playing the songs they love.

Each lesson is customized for the student in a fun, low-pressure environment. I understand that my students either go to school or work during the day so I want music to be an escape for them, not a job. My main goal is to inspire new players to be awesome musicians.

Lesson Pricing

I have no enrollment or course fees. Lessons are one-on-one and paid for at the begining of the month. Only pay for the lessons you take. Want to take a couple of weeks off for vacation? No problem. Just let me know ahead of time and I won't charge you to hold your spot. I accept cash, Paypal and Venmo.

Location

I teach out of my home studio in Spokane Valley, WA. I'm less than a minute from the Pines exit on I90 - 15 minutes from downtown Spokane and 20 minutes from Post Falls. Directions will be provided when we schedule your first lesson.
